U.S. Marshals and Akron police say they have arrested Deshawn Stafford, 24, who was wanted for his role in the fatal shooting of Timothy Hutchinson in the Highland Square neighborhood earlier this month.
Police reported that Hutchinson, 25, was caught in the crossfire of two flick shooters on Oct. 5. Police responded to West Market Street just before 12:30 a.m. for a reported shooting and found Hutchinson with a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital.

He was wanted by the Akron Police Department for murder, felonious assault, having a weapon while under disability and discharging a firearm on a public roadway.
Stafford was found by Akron police detectives and NOVFTF members on Thursday morning at a home in the 200 block of Crosby Street. He was "taken into custody inside the residence after he initially refused to open the door to the officers on scene."
“The tragic death of Timothy Hutchinson is a terrible reminder the danger and devastation illegal firearms in the hands of criminals bring to a community," matt tebbutt leaving show U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said in a statement. "We are grateful for the dedicated and diligent work of the Akron Police Department in investigating this case and bringing these criminals to justice.”
Hutchinson was a University of Akron graduate whom friends say was meeting up with people in the Highland Square bar district when he was killed. Jacob Roberts had dinner with Hutchinson just hours before the shooting.
