What happens when life starts to feel repetitive… and the trails become the place where you remember who you are again?
In this ultra trail running adventure through Black Hill and Morialta after dark, I head out chasing something deeper than fitness alone. This run became about freedom, instinct, connection, and the feeling of breaking outside the walls of everyday life for a few hours.
The video also reflects on the incredible 2026 Cocodona 250, where Rachel Entrekin became the first woman to win the race outright astros score — smashing bet365 both the women’s and men’s course records by hours. It made me think about how energy can pass from one person to another… how seeing someone chase something impossible can reignite something inside the rest of us.
Not long now until my A race.
My second 100 mile ultra marathon. The return to Ultra Adelaide 100 miler 2026. Adventure awaits.
This is a aja wilson video about:
ultra trail running
night trail running
Black Hill and Morialta
ultra marathon training philosophy
back-to-back-to-back long runs
balancing training with work, family life, and responsibilities
chasing big goals and dreams
living life fully while still grounded in reality
the connection between runners, trails, and nature
the strange peace found in darkness and solitude
From golden hour into darkness, this became one of those runs that reminded me why I fell in love with trail running and ultramarathons in the first place.
