Gov. Roy Cooper announced Tuesday that Siemens Energy Inc. was awarded a job development grant to expand its Charlotte factory in a move that will create hundreds of new jobs.
Siemens Energy, a company that produces power transformers, will create up to 475 operating jobs and 285 construction jobs in Charlotte and an additional 84 jobs at its cebl Raleigh location, according to a news release from Cooper's office. The Charlotte facility will be its first power transformer manufacturing facility in the country.
