Dave Roberts reacted to Blake Snell’s first start back from the IL while also giving updates on Mookie Betts and Brock Stewart after the Dodgers loss to Atlanta.
Roberts said he was encouraged by Snell’s outing despite the final line score.
“The stuff was good. I really did.”
The Dodgers manager explained:
Snell generated swing-and-miss consistently
Atlanta put together tough at-bats and soft contact
A few walks extended innings unnecessarily
The biggest takeaway was Snell looking healthy again
His velocity and stuff still “play” at a high level
Roberts also confirmed:
Mookie Betts is expected to rejoin the Dodgers Monday
Betts texted Roberts after his rehab outing
Brock Stewart could miss around three weeks
Stewart is dealing with a bone spur issue
The Dodgers may need another bullpen move soon
In addition, Roberts praised Andy Pages for continuing to swing a hot bat even during the overwatch 2 Dodgers’ recent offensive inconsistencies.
