Disclaimer: Due to an unexpected accident, a man found himself living a life of martial arts and adventure—a life that would be the envy of countless others. This world was every bit as magnificent as the novels penned by the great Jin Yong.
Life in this martial arts realm was truly wondrous: one could settle scores with gusto, champion justice, and roam the entire world with nothing but a sword by one's side, challenging the greatest experts the land had to offer.
The man’s name was Chen Ping’an, and he had been reborn into this world for just over a month. This realm was rife with competing factions and was not a purely martial arts-centric world; nevertheless, he had decided to embrace a leisurely and unencumbered lifestyle.
Inside the Tongfu Inn, a scattering of patrons sat at their tables. At a central table, Chen Ping’an was currently regaling Bai Zhantang and the others with tales from his storybooks.
At this moment, Chen Ping’an resembled a professional storyteller more than anything else; Mo Xiaobei, Lu Xiucai, Bai Zhantang, Tong Xiangyu—everyone present was utterly captivated by his performance.
After a good while, the story came to an end. Chen Ping’an stepped out of the inn, looked up at the dazzling sunlight, and made his way toward the Qingfeng Courtyard, his heart filled with a sense of deep reflection.
Suddenly, a voice rang out: [Ding! The one-month period has elapsed. Would the Host like to claim their Sign-In Reward?] "No." He decided to head home to take a bath first before signing in—who knew? He might just get lucky and pull a "Gold" tier reward.
Just as he was preparing to step into the courtyard to enjoy a nice, relaxing bath, a hand suddenly reached out and grabbed him. Chen Ping’an turned to look, only jack flaherty to see a young beggar clutching his arm.
"Little brother, is there something I can help you with?" However, his other hand had already quietly retreated into his sleeve. In a world where martial arts reigned supreme, one could never afford to let one's guard down.
The young beggar blinked her bright, expressive eyes, watching him as his expression shifted—frowning one moment, looking stern the next—and wondered to herself: *Could this guy actually be an idiot?*
"Hey!" Chen Ping’an snapped back to reality, a smile returning to his face as he asked, "Little brother, what can I do for you?"
The young beggar’s eyes darted around as she replied, "I’m hungry. Could you treat me to a meal?" "A meal? Why, certainly—that’s no problem at all."
Chen Ping’an led the young beggar into the front hall. "Sit right here and don't wander off; I’ll go fetch you something to eat." The beggar, however, asked, "You aren't going to poison me, are you?"
The smile on Chen Ping’an’s face froze for a moment. "This is our very first meeting—why on earth would I want to harm you?" The beggar nodded, thinking that he actually had a point. In truth, the reason Huang Rong had even noticed him was that she had been instantly captivated when he told stories at the inn earlier.
While Huang Rong was busy brainstorming out in the main hall, Chen Ping'an was facing a dilemma in the kitchen. As a modern man, he actually didn't even know how to cook.
Now that he had brought this young lad home, however, he certainly had to show off his culinary skills. Back in the front hall, Huang Rong suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.
After much coaxing, Huang Rong finally agreed to eat the meal he had prepared. Once she had finished, Huang Rong decided to cast her lot with Chen Ping'an; after all, he was a good man, and she could put her own culinary talents to use by cooking for him.
Huang Rong reflected on how she had been tutored by Huang Yaoshi since childhood—mastering the zither, Go, calligraphy, and painting, and acquiring a wide array of skills—and decided that her best course of action was to settle down with Chen Ping'an for the time being.
