About This Story : At the funeral of Capt Sumeet Sabharwal, pilot of Air India 171, his 91-year-old father Pushkar Raj Sabharwal stood alone in unbearable grief. Six pga championship 2026 months later, he sits in his quiet Mumbai flat, surrounded only by the portraits of his son and his late wife. The loneliness is the same, but his resolve is stronger.
After Western media reports and probe-panel leaks cast doubt on whether his son crashed the plane intentionally, Pushkar Raj began a courageous battle. With support from the Federation of Indian Pilots, he has taken the case to the Supreme Court, challenging the investigation and fighting to clear his son’s name.
The court has already criticized “nasty” foreign reporting and assured him there is no blame on the pilot. But for this ageing father, the mission is larger than vindication. It is about truth, dignity and justice.
For the first time since his son's tragic death, Pushkar Raj Sabharwal speaks out, to Mojo Story's Barkha Dutt.
