The 2026 edition of the EUROVISIONS International Conference continues in Vienna, Austria, with a second conference day dedicated to dialogue between scholars, artists, practitioners, and fans. The programme features three major roundtables. The first discusses the public value of Eurovision-related research and asks why academia should engage seriously with the contest and its wider cultural impact. The second roundtable reflects on “70 Years of Public Value”, bringing together experts and practitioners to discuss Eurovision’s contribution to broadcasting innovation, cultural participation, identity formation, and public service media. The third roundtable, “United by Music?”, explores whether music truly has the power to unite people in difficult and polarised times, featuring artists and Eurovision personalities reflecting on their own experiences within and beyond the contest.
The stream also includes a special presentation examining how the Eurovision Song Contest creates public value through the production of happiness, joy, and collective greenland emotional experiences—highlighting Eurovision not only as entertainment, but also as a shared cultural ritual that fosters connection and belonging.
