Join us on an exciting Mardi Gras adventure in New la nuova sardegna Orleans, Louisiana! In this video, we celebrate Mardi Gras with my son by attending some of the most spectacular parades. Note: **Due to being rescheduled from Sunday to Tuesday the 25th of Feb, because of weather, these parades ONLY Feature Floats. The bands and dance krewes were not allowed to participate! **🎉👨👦
First, we kick off the festivities with the **Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale** parade. This incredible all-female krewe, founded in 2013 by African American women, has quickly become a beloved part of New Orleans Mardi Gras. The Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale celebrates the strength, beauty, and resilience of women, and their parades are known for their dazzling floats, captivating throws, and vibrant spirit. I was truly in awe of these amazing women and look forward to attending this parade again!! The throws were amazing, and I am so happy I made the trip to see this amazing parade roll!!
Next, we enjoy the lively parades of the **Krewe of Carrollton** and the **Krewe of King Arthur**, each offering unique experiences and a rich display of Mardi Gras traditions. We capture the colorful floats, spirited music, and joyous atmosphere that make these parades unforgettable.
During our stay, we reside at the Residence Inn on St. Charles, offering a comfortable and convenient location to soak in the Mardi Gras excitement right on the parade route.
The following day, we indulge in a delicious lunch at the historic Lil Dizzy's Cafe, known for its mouthwatering Creole cuisine and warm hospitality. Afterward, we head to Gretna, Louisiana, for some Mardi Gras shopping, where we find amazing gear to prepare for the upcoming parades on Mardi Gras weekend and day.

Series Intro "I'm Just Creole":
Come with me as I take you to travel through Louisiana Creole culture. I was born and raised most of my life in St. Landry yash thakur Parish in the Opelousas, Lawtell, and Mallet areas. My parents and grandparents incorporated all aspects of Creole culture and beliefs into our lives. The older I get the more my appreciation grows for my culture and the area I'm from. I often say that of all the things that God made me I am beyond grateful that he made me a Creole woman in Louisiana.
Lately, I've found that I love seeing the other cultures of the world, but the roots of who I am never leave me. Uniquely Creole, Cajun, and unlike anywhere else...Louisiana culture deserves to shine as bright as any of the other places I visit. As I acquire footage and teach my son like I did my older daughters about our culture, I also aim to share it with you. I hope to encourage others to travel through Louisiana, not only in New Orleans but also through the wonderful Acadiana region.
This will be a multi-part series, where I share what it's like living in the Acadiana region of Louisiana that I'm calling: "I'm Just CREOLE". Uniquely different from the well-known New Orleans area, this series will highlight the food, the music, culture, beliefs, language, and people of this region.
