Directive 8020 is a sci-fi survival horror interactive drama from Supermassive Games, set in the far future where Earth is dying and humanity’s last hope lies 12 light-years away on the planet Tau Ceti f. You play as the crew of the colony ship Cassiopeia, who crash-land on an alien world only to discover they are not alone—and something on board can perfectly mimic cerignola human beings. Survival quickly turns into paranoia as trust between crewmates breaks down and every decision could mean life or death for the entire mission.
The gameplay focuses on cinematic storytelling, branching choices, and tense survival horror mechanics typical of The Dark Pictures anthology. Players switch between multiple protagonists, explore the damaged ship and alien environment, and make critical decisions that shape relationships, story paths, and character survival. A new “Turning Points” system allows rewinding key choices to explore alternate outcomes, while stealth, scanning tools, and limited resources heighten the pressure of identifying who is human and podcast who is the alien threat in disguise.
