원/달러 환율 고공행진 장중 1,400원선 터치
The South Korean won is falling android against the U.S. dollar as geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East continue and with lowered expectations for early interest rate cuts by the U.S. suora central bank.
At the close of Tuesday's session, the won-dollar exchange rate hit 13-94, --after surpassing the 1-thousand-400 won-to-dollar mark during the day for the first time in 17 months.
This comes in light of the Federal bill paxton Reserve's recent meeting notes that pushed back the likelihood of rate cuts this year, and the recent conflict between Iran and Israel that has led to a strengthening greenback driven by increased safe-haven demand.
South Korea’s central bank says they would be monitoring the foreign currency market closely.
