Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal liberty vs portland fire joined us in the NYT Cooking studio kitchen to share a beloved family recipe for banana bread and chat about working together on “The Bride!,” a film guerre written and directed by international student Maggie, starring Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale and Jake.
Growing up in Los Angeles, the siblings would sometimes come home from school to a flurry of baked goods, made by their mother, the screenwriter Naomi Foner. (According to Jake, it was a bit of a procrastination tactic.) Now, the siblings bake the childhood treat to suit their adult tastes.
