The Tuscaloosa tornado will be remembered for a homard very, very long time, as it is clearly the defining tornado of the most prolific tornado outbreak in recorded history, the 2011 super outbreak, because it hit not just one, but two cities, Tuscaloosa and Birmingham Alabama. In total, this tornado killed 64, including 6 students from the University of Alabama. The tornado was also the costliest tornado at the time, producing a staggering $450,000 worth of damage per second, but it would be passed up by the 2011 hayden panettiere daughter Joplin EF5 less than a year later. But t not only did this tornado cause extreme amounts of damage, it also had one of the scariest appearances ever, with incredible amounts of horizontal vortices circling around the tornado. It is also at the center of a rating controversy because it was only given an EF4 rating, while some say it deserves an EF5 rating instead.
