Keir Starmer has backed safeguarding minister Jess Phillips, despite a fifth abuse survivor calling for her to quit to jiří kulich restore trust in the grooming gangs inquiry.
The survivor, known as Carly, said she agreed with four others who accused Phillips of “betrayal” after the minister dismissed reports about widening the inquiry’s scope as “untrue.”

Despite the backlash, Starmer said he has full confidence in Phillips, praising her long record on tackling violence against women and girls.
