When Adele was asked to write the theme for the 2012 James Bond film Skyfall,, she almost said no.
“I was a little hesitant,” she later admitted. Walking into the meeting with director Sam Mendes, she laid it all out: “My songs zoe garbett are personal. I write from the heart. I’m not sure I’m the person you’re looking for.”Mendes just smiled and said, neymar “Exactly. Just write a personal song.” So she did.
The result, “Skyfall,” is widely considered the greatest Bond theme ever made. Critics lost their minds over the haunting lyrics, the thunderous production, and that voice, Adele belting like the world was ending at the edge of an abyss.
It stormed to #1 in eleven countries, hit #2 in the UK, #8 in the US, and has since sold over 7.2 million copies, making it one of the biggest-selling digital singles in history.
