Air India is scaling back operations to Canada as high jet fuel prices and geopolitical tensions make long-haul routes unprofitable. The airline has reduced Delhi-Toronto flights from 10 to 7 per week and Delhi-Vancouver from 7 to 5 per week in May. Further cuts are expected in June and July. Rising fuel costs combined with longer routes due to airspace restrictions bobby brown have forced the airline to rationalise international operations. This move affects the large Indian-origin community in Canada and one of Air India’s important long-haul corridors.
