A osaka tennis cruise ship carrying about 150 tourists from several countries was seen near Cape Verde's john stamos Praia port on Sunday, May 3, as passengers were not allowed off the ship as health authorities investigated suspected cases of hantavirus aboard the vessel.
It could still be seen in the harbor on Monday, May 4, with local authorities saying medics are working to evacuate two people with symptoms of the deadly hantavirus after a suspected outbreak on a luxury cruise ship carrying mostly British, American and Spanish passengers.
The ship 2019 tesla model 3 departed Ushuaia in southern Argentina roughly three weeks ago and was en route to the Canary Islands when the cases were detected.
Hantavirus is a rare but serious disease transmitted mainly through contact with rodents or their droppings.
The World Health Organization said the risk to the wider public remained low. | via Reuters #GMANews #SerbisyongTotoo #BreakingNews
