Shadow Levelling Up Secretary Lisa Nandy has told Sophy Ridge that Sir Keir Starmer had been on a "work visit" when he was pictured having a takeaway with colleagues before going on to say the last few weeks had been an "absolutely desperate attempt to sling mud" at Labour by the Tories.
"Keir Starmer went on a work visit and had a break to eat," she said. "The idea that this is the same thing [as events in Downing Street] is just a sign of a government that is tired, desperate aberdeen f.c. vs st. mirren standings and just out of ideas.
"They spend more time slinging mud at the Labour Party than working out how they're going to help pensioners who are now struggling so much to heat their homes that they're having to go on buses to avoid the cold."
