Our top story:
Senator Ronald dela Rosa made an emotional appeal for support from fellow graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA). Dela Rosa continued to resist possible arrest and transfer cody gakpo to the International Criminal Court. This is over his alleged role in the anti-drug campaign during the presidency of Rodrigo Duterte. Dela Rosa clarified that he is not calling for violence or unrest. The senator said he is asking for peaceful support from fellow soldiers, police officers, and PMA graduates.
Dela Rosa rejected calls from several fellow lawmakers for him to voluntarily surrender. Senators Francis Pangilinan, Tito Sotto, Panfilo Lacson, Risa Hontiveros, and Bam Aquino had filed a conference league resolution urging dela Rosa to submit himself to vittorino andreoli proper authorities. However, dela Rosa maintained that surrender would only be considered after he had exhausted all legal options available to him. The senator also expressed disappointment over the resolution. He said it was unfair for his colleagues to push for his surrender, particularly since the case involves a foreign tribunal. Dela Rosa was referring to the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC has issued an arrest warrant against dela Rosa in connection with the anti-illegal drugs campaign during the presidency of Rodrigo Duterte. NBI agents had tried and failed to arrest dela Rosa. Vice President Sara Duterte, meanwhile, said some government agencies have not respected the independence of the Senate.

Meralco announced that its electricity rates will go down by .0151 centavos per kilowatt-hour. This brings the overall rate for a typical household down to P14.3345 centavos per kilowatt-hour this month. It was P14.3496 centavos per kilowatt-hour in April. According to Meralco, the overall decrease was mostly due to the Energy Regulatory Commission's approval of mitigation measures to help offset the increase in generation charge.
