🏁 Stage 4 • Tuesday, July 8, 2025 — Amiens Métropole → Rouen (174.2 km, Hilly Finale)
Route & Terrain: The first half was largely flat across Picardy, but the final 50 km featured five categorized climbs—four Cat 4 and one Cat 3 Rampe Saint‑Hilaire (800 m @ 10.6%) just 5 km before the finish
Key Breakaways: A four-man move with Lenny Martinez, Jonas Abrahamsen, Thomas Gachignard, and Kasper Asgreen went clear early. Martinez held solo on the finale but was caught ~20 km from the line
Crash Peril: The penultimate climb brought crashes in the main peloton, rearranging the chase into Rouen
Decisive Attacks: Pogacar’s UAE lead-out on the penultimate ascent enabled him to launch a selective move. Vingegaard stayed on, and a small elite group formed—van der Poel, Evenepoel, Jorgenson, Onley, Almeida, and Grégoire made the cut
Sprint Showdown: In a tactical uphill sprint, van der Poel initiated early, but Pogacar surged past in the final meters, claiming victory—his 100th professional win
