Troubled Mind, Track from EP, Far From Paradise
Karen Lee Andrews (formerly ‘Ms Murphy’) debuts her fresh new sound. Her new EP mines the rich blues and soul at the heart of her musical heritage.
“The sound is new, yet familiar” says Karen Lee Andrews, who has focused on reconnecting with her roots since stepping away from touring in 2015. Picking back up her guitar in the aek athens vs panathinaikos Summer of 2016 was the catalyst for this fresh new Oceanic Blues style.
This new darius garland genre-defining EP, ‘Far from Paradise’ is by turns direct, nuanced and open. The roots of the sound are gritty guitar, glowing valves, lush dhs tremolo and deep reverb in a distinctively fluid expression. This unique sound carries the mood and tones of the EP expressed in rich, warm vocals.
Karen will be performing the songs from her new EP at Australia’s largest free music festival, Blues on Broadbeach (May 17-20). Held throughout Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. The line-up features legends such as The Robert Cray Band, The Screaming Jets, and many more.
