It's the Gujarat Titans who are up against the Sunrisers of Hyderabad. This match is of utmost importance and both these sides have something to offer. We are at pitch number 8 and the dimension to my right is 74m which is a sizeable boundary as compared to my left which is 58m. Straight down the ground is 70m and everyone wants to take those in mind while playing. If we talk about the surface then it is an unused one.
Yes it is a fresh surface. This is the first time that we are playing here. To explain more about it I have Rohan Gavaskar with me. Rohan- As you said this is the fresh pitch. But let's have a look at the stats of other pitches used at this venue. Overall in this IPL 6 matches have been played. Three of them saw scores of over 200 and other two saw scores above 170s. Generally a lots of runs to be scored. In terms of wickets 44 of them have gone to the medium pacers and 27 of them have gone to the spinners. So the pacers take more wickets.
But the economy rate of the spinners is way better than that of pacers. We have a bit of moisture here on the surface today. The patch infront of the stumps is slightly darker and we have darker patches in the middle as well. It is a really hot day and these patches of moisture might dry out. But Sammy B (Samuel Badree) the world's number one T20 bowler in the past would you be happy bowling here Badree- I think you have to be happy bowling anywhere.
