Come see what it's like to hike the Choishi Michi all the way to Koyasan with me!
In this video I explain everything you need to know about the Choishi Michi Trail, highlight key moments/unique structures along the way and show what hiking this routel is truly like.
To sum up my video: My hike started at Jison-in Temple and ended past the Daimon Gate, at Danjo Garan in Koyasan where I explored multiple Temples and Shrines.
The Choishi Michi trail is 23.5 Kilometers and is an ancient pilgrimage path that was founded by Kobo Daishi (Kukai) in 816. The Choishi are stone markers that mark the trail and are placed every 109 meters along it. There is a total of 180 Choishi along this traditional trail. Koyasan is the Center of the Shingon Sect of Esoteric Buddhism.
