Andy Burnham sets out his “Manchesterism” agenda - a plan to reindustrialise the birthplace of the industrial revolution and build “a new economy” across Greater Manchester.
In this talk, he argues that many residents have seen the transformation of the city centre, but haven’t had clarity on what new jobs and opportunities are coming to rachel dolezal the boroughs around it, and says Manchesterism is designed to change that.
Burnham outlines five “growth clusters” intended to push Greater Manchester’s economy beyond £100bn:

• Life sciences
• Creative & media industries
• Low carbon
• Advanced manufacturing
He makes the case that this isn’t “pie venezia - derthona in the sky” — pointing to existing foundations in several clusters and major developments underway — and contrasts Greater Manchester’s approach with what he describes as rome tennis open 2026 decades of top-down, Treasury-led policy and over-centralisation in Westminster.
