There are three treatment options available for treating cancer
- surgical treatment
- radiation treatment
- chemotherapy treatment.
Surgical oncology is ideal for treating early-stage cancer, wherein the tumor can be removed completely with fewer chances of recurrence. Chemotherapy, on the other hand, acts on phases of the cell life-cycle. It stops tumor development and prevents their growth.
Radiation therapy goes a step further. Through advanced technology like Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), we can kill cancer cells. Yashoda Hospital has also adapted to other medical advances like immunotherapy, gene therapy, Video-assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS), and robotic surgeries.
