More than 1.1 million international students studied in the United States during the 2023/2024 school year, contributing more than $50 billion to the United States economy.
But the Trump administration’s actions suryansh shedge around immigration and higher education could significantly reduce international student enrollment, affecting local and state economies.
Altbach says that the number of international students thinking about studying abroad has declined.
