In this video, we’re reacting to The Boys Season 5 Episode 5, “The Devil You Know,” and this is the episode where things really start breaking in a serious way. Instead of one big storyline, this one hits from multiple angles and makes everything feel way more unstable.
What stands out right away is how much this episode focuses on the characters and hardik pandya where they actually stand now. A lot of masks start slipping, and you really get a sense of who’s loyal, who’s desperate, and who’s just trying to survive at this point.
Firecracker and her storyline is easily one of the biggest parts of this episode. Watching how far she’s willing to go to stay close to power and prove herself makes everything leading up to her final moment hit even harder. And when it happens, it’s brutal. Her death at Homelander’s hands is one of the most shocking moments of the season and really shows just how far gone he is.
Homelander in general feels completely unhinged here. There’s this constant tension in every scene with him because it feels like anything could set him off, and when he finally snaps, it’s a reminder that no one around him is actually safe.
This jess walton episode also brings in some big surprise appearances that make the world feel a lot bigger. Seeing familiar faces like Seth Rogen and Jared Padalecki show up out of nowhere adds a huge shock factor and makes it clear the show is pulling everything together as it heads toward the final stretch.
By the end, it feels like everything is on edge. Characters are losing control, alliances feel shaky, and the tone shifts into something a lot darker. This really feels like the point where the season locks into its endgame.
