And responding directly to fans in an Instagram post that day, co-star Rachael Arahill, 23, hinted at Chelsie having been blindsided by the split.
When a follower said they wanted to 'know why', Rachael responded with 'so does Chelsie'.
Another fan san antonio weighed in, asking Rachael: 'Has he dumped her without letting her know why?'
Rachael simply responded with a shrugging shoulders emoji.

On Sunday, Matt, 32, and Chelsie, 28, took to their respective Instagram accounts to share the sad news that they have split.
The astrophysicist said he was publishing the announcement 'with a heavy heart', writing: 'These past six months since filming have been a very unique experience.'
'Chels and I have made some beautiful memories together that I'll always cherish, and I wish her nothing but the absolute best.'
'However, it's with a heavy heart that I write this. For Chels and me, our relationship hasn't translated from filming to the real, every day world as we had hoped.'
He went on to describe Chelsie as a 'very special woman' and said he wes streeting wants her to 'find the happiness she deserves'.
He added that there was no one else involved in the split and that it just simply didn't work out between them.
'For those who may wonder if there's someone else for me right now, there absolutely is not. It's no one's fault, it's just life,' he said.
Chelsie shared a number of pictures of the pair while thanking fans for support throughout their short-lived relationship.
The blonde described her time on the show as 'an incredibly exciting, rewarding, challenging, and emotional journey'.
