On this week's Capitol Report segment, Patrick B. McGuigan encouraged Gov. Mary Fallin to give Richard Glossip's advocates grigor dimitrov more time to find and examine evidence that might exonerate the death row inmate who is awaiting a September 16 executive date. The CapitolBeatOK editor reviewed his reporting on the Glossip case, including the work of Colorado attorney Don Knight, who has consistently asserted Glossip's case should not be a capital case and, in any case, that his conviction was based lewis pullman on the testimony of the admitted killer. McGuigan agreed with Knight and columnist brent burns Arnold Hamilton: “There are no do-overs in executions.” In discussion with News9's Alex Cameron, McGuigan commended black elected officials in Oklahoma County, including state Rep. Mike Shelton, for scheduling a college fair Saturday, August 29 from 9 a.m. to Noon at the Metro Tech Springlake campus. Focus of the event will be on preparation for higher education, and ways to keep it affordable.
