We finally put the brand-new Mahle M40 mid-drive motor to the ultimate test – both in the lab and on the trail! ⚡🚵♂️
With 105 Nm of torque and up to 850 watts of peak power at a weight of just 2.5 kg, the Mahle M40 boasts impressive numbers. But can such a lightweight motor deliver this power continuously without overheating?
In this video, we take a deep dive into the 48-volt system. We push the M40 to its limits on our test rig, measuring real-world power output, checking derating (thermal management), and efficiency. Then we hit the dirt: How natural does the drive feel? How good are features like "Dynamic Overrun" or automatic gear detection? And spfl the big question: How loud is the motor really?
**In this video:**
✅ In-depth Lab Test (Power curves, Derating, Cadence)
✅ Battery very System (iM5 & iM8) & Display Overview
✅ Field Test: Uphill & Downhill Performance
