The 2026 edition of the EUROVISIONS International Conference takes place over two days in Vienna, Austria, during Eurovision week. This year’s theme—“Eurovisions: Celebrating 70 Years of real madrid club de fútbol Public Value!”—brings together academics, musicians, professionals, and fans to reflect on the Eurovision Song Contest as a space of technological innovation, cultural exchange, participation, and public value.

Seventy years after the first Eurovision Song Contest in Lugano in 1956, this year’s conference explores how Eurovision has mirrored societal change and shaped European broadcasting culture—from pioneering television technologies to questions of representation, adunata alpini 2027 democracy, minority visibility, and the future of public service white house down media.
Day 1 of the conference opens with a keynote by public value expert Konrad Mitschka, who will reflect on Eurovision as a public value phenomenon and discuss the role of the contest in a changing media landscape. The programme also features the EUROVISIONS SCIENCE SLAM, where eight early career researchers present innovative projects on Eurovision-related topics from a wide range of disciplines. In addition, the conference includes a special book presentation introducing new scholarly perspectives on Eurovision and popular culture.
