If you have been wondering whether you should pick up this Jenna's Book Club pick about a 70 year old woman, a young man and an Octopus - durham the immediate answer is grand theft auto a resounding "YES!" Listen to me read the first few entries (not really chapters) to understand what liga portugal all the hype is about. You will be introduced to Marcellus and Tova, their grief and need of connection. You will have insight into Shelby Van Pelt's remarkably (pun intended) gifted writing as a first time author. Van Pelt created such vibrant characters and developed her settings so well you could feel, taste, touch and smell as if you were there. I can't wait to see the Netflix adaptation - the director will have the easiest time translating her novel to the screen!
