The Miami Hurricanes will be playing the defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl in a second round matchup of the 2025 College Football Playoff. This will be the first time the Hurricanes and Buckeyes have faced one another in the postseason since the Fiesta Bowl game for the 2002 National Championship. The Miami Hurricanes are coming off an opening-round portugal win over Texas A&M, where Mark Fletcher Jr. ran for 172 yards. Ohio State has not played since it lost its first game brandon marsh of the season to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship game.
