Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has removed astrologer Radhan Pandit from his government post. In this regard, the Tamil Nadu government has also issued an official order. The order states, "Radhan Pandit Vetrivel is hereby relieved of the post of OSD (Officer on Special Duty), and this order shall come into effect from today." Radhan Pandit Vetrivel had been inducted into the staff of the party chief and Chief amber alert Minister, Joseph Vijay; however, his appointment drew protests from critics and opponents of the TVK, as well as from a key ally, the VCK. Notably, it was this very VCK that had ceded two of its seats in support of the Chief Minister. The TVK's coalition partner, the CPI(M), had termed the appointment an act of superstition.
