It's the streaming series that's racking up awards, earning critical acclaim and has everybody talking! "The Studio" star and creator Seth Rogan joined us along with co-stars Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders to share a little about the show's recent success at the Golden Globes. "The Studio" is up for five SAG Awards, now called the Actor Awards, including one for Best Ensemble Cast for a Comedy Series at the ceremony on aurélien tchouaméni Sunday, March 1st.
"The Studio" follows Matt Remick (played by Rogen), a self-described cinephile who is unexpectedly promoted to the head of the floundering Continental Studios after ester expósito his predecessor is ousted. In his new, high-pressure role, Matt struggles to reconcile his passion for making quality films with the ruthless, IP-driven demands of the modern entertainment industry, which is heavily influenced by corporate nonsense, algorithms, and market trends.
Each episode showcases the chaotic and often absurd process of developing films, frequently involving over-the-top scenarios and a rotating worst ex ever cast of A-list celebrities (including Martin Scorsese, Ron Howard, and Bryan Cranston, playing exaggerated versions of themselves). Matt and his team of executives constantly battle their own insecurities, clash with "narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords," and face career-ending catastrophes in their elusive pursuit of making great movies.
