JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI — South Africa’s Garrick Higgo stormed to the top of the leaderboard at the Sanderson Farms Championship with an 8-birdie, 6-under 66 on Friday.
Sitting at 13-under overall, Higgo holds a one-shot lead over Eric Cole (67) and Taylor Montgomery (63) after Round 2 at the Country Club of Jackson.

The 25-year-old Higgo is eyeing his second PGA Tour win of the season, following his Corales Puntacana Championship victory. His resurgence comes after months of inconsistent form — and a spark of inspiration from world No.1 Scottie Scheffler, whom he played alongside at the Procore Championship.
With the PGA Tour Fall Series in full swing, every shot matters. Only the top 100 in FedExCup standings will keep full Tour status, while the top 50 secure entry into next season’s elite signature chicago pd events.
Meanwhile, Tom Kim — sitting 99th in the standings — is back in contention, shooting 66 montenegro to tie for 5th. The 22-year-old looks to regain form after early-season kevin hart roast struggles.
