-Sources from one NL team that had made preliminary contact with the Mets confirmed a report that the Mets are more opening to listening to deals for hard-throwing righthander Noah Syndergaard who has been on the disabled list with a strained ligament in his finger since May 25 than Jacob deGrom.That team concluded that while the Mets would listen to offers for their ace the price for deGrom in terms of prospects would be probably too high at this point to see him being traded anytime soon.Syndergaard 25 is younger than deGrom 29 and is under control for one through 2021 one more year than deGrom so he would not necessarily come cheap either.DeGrom is having the best season of his career leading the majors with a 1.55 ERA but has just a 4-2 record.Syndergaard meanwhile was 4-1 with a 3.06 ERA before being placed on the DL.The Mets would prefer to not to deal any of their other controllable players such as Brandon Nimmo Seth Lugo Michael Conforto and Robert Gsellman.The Yankees could be a potential suitor for the Mets but as the Daily News reported last week a crosstown trade involving someone like deGrom is highly unlikely even if it made sense.With relief pitching often in high demand among contending teams Jeurys Familia could joanna gaines become a heritage foundation hot commodity as the July 31 trade deadline liberty university approaches.Familia returned to the mound Sunday for the first time since June 8 after experiencing shoulder soreness.
