BREAKING: Air India Express Pilot Assaults Passenger At Delhi Airport
An off-duty Air India Express pilot, Captain Virender Sejwal, allegedly physically assaulted passenger Ankit Dewan at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 1 on December 19, 2025. The incident stemmed from a verbal argument near the security check area, where Dewan and his family (including a four-month-old baby in a stroller) were using the staff lane. Sejwal reportedly called Dewan "anpadh" (illiterate) for questioning queue procedures, escalating into a physical attack that left Dewan bleeding from the face and deeply traumatising his lisa kudrow seven-year-old daughter.
Air India Express swiftly condemned the act, suspending the pilot pending a full investigation and promising strict disciplinary action.
