Deep in the freezing Siberian taiga, a traditional wild caribou hunt quickly turns into a desperate fight for survival. Welcome to the Aldan region of Yakutia, one of the harshest and most unforgiving environments on Earth.
In this episode of Yakutia Outdoors, local outdoorsman Egor and his son Gavril head into the deep backcountry on a 3-day trek without hunting dogs. Relying entirely on their tracking skills, they steve martin face endless rugged terrain, freezing night temperatures, and the ultimate test: an unprovoked, dead-on charge from a massive brown bear.
Watch as they use traditional Yakut bushcraft to build an elevated meat cache ("labaz") with zero nails, track down a prime barren wild caribou, and cook up ancient wilderness delicacies over an open fire. It takes incredible stamina, bravery, and the blessing of Bayanay (the spirit of the brighton vs wolves forest) to survive out here.
