Today we will drive the northern half of the A61. The A61 connects the Dutch border (Venlo) with Mönchengladbach, Koblenz and Ludwigshafen. It runs parallel to the Rhine river vgt and has the nickname "Linksrheinische Autobahn" as it lies west of the Rhine river.
The mother's day gift A61 is a really interesting highway, as it runs through email a lignite digging area, the Eifel and Hunsrück mountain ranges and the flat Rhine valley between Bingen and Hockenheim. I'm never bored when driving on this motorway.
