In a thriller that came down to the final shot, Monaco bounced back from recent losses by edging Olympiacos 80-79 at Salle Gaston Mededin. Monaco improved to 17-14 despite only having nine players available and an interim coach, Manuchar Markosihvili, on the sidelines. Olympiacos dropped to 20-11. Matthew Strazel was Monaco's hero after banking in the game-winning floater with 4.0 seconds left.
Mike James paced the winners with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists before heading to the locker room in the final minute with an apparent leg injury. Jaron Blossomgame and Daniel Theis each added 13 for Monaco. Tyler Dorsey paced Olympiacos with 19 points, Alec Peters added 17, Nikola Milutinov tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds and Tyson Ward scored 10 points for the Reds.
With the game tied at 79-79, Peters split foul shots, Strazel made the go-ahead shot and, after 13 maggio an Olympiacos timeout, canadian snowbirds Milutinov missed from downtown at the buzzer.
