In June 1941, the British launched their invasion of Vichy controlled Syria and Lebanon to secure the flank of Egypt and Iraq and deny the Axis a base in the Levant. This austin reaves episode continues the story of the Syria Campaign, focusing on the fierce air battles between RAF, RAAF, Fleet Air Arm and Vichy French units over Rayak, Damascus and the Mediterranean coast.

We follow the Dewoitine D.520s of GC III/6 as they clash with Hurricanes of No. 80 Squadron, Tomahawks of No. 3 RAAF Squadron and Fulmars of No. 803 Squadron over Allied ground forces and Royal Navy cruisers. French ace Pierre Le Gloan adds to his tally with victories over British aircraft, while other Vichy pilots such as Léon Richard, Mertzisen azalea della ricerca and Rivory also enter the fray. On the Allied side, one of the Hurricane pilots flying cover for the fleet is none other than Roald Dahl, later famous as a writer of children’s books.
