Former Chief Executive of the HKSAR, Leung Chun-ying, stated regarding the national security case of Jimmy Lai, founder of Apple Daily, that Hong Kong society should learn lessons from this case.
He emphasized that it's not just about examining the legal procedures and judgment of the case itself, but also about deeply reflecting on the political environment behind it. He pointed out that Jimmy Lai's ability to cause "havoc" in Hong Kong was not accidental, but rather through the influence of his media on the education sector, especially primary and secondary schools.
