A quiet Tuesday night in Da Nang, Vietnam — and something felt off.
I went out expecting the usual buzz: street food stalls firing, motorbikes weaving through traffic, locals and tourists filling the sidewalks. But instead… silence. Whole stretches of the city felt empty. Restaurants were open but nearly deserted, streets that should’ve been lively were strangely calm, and even the beach area had barely anyone around.
Was it the heat? The time of year? A random off night? Or did I just end up in the wrong places at the wrong time?
In this video, I walk through Da Nang at night in April, showing exactly what it looked and felt like — no crowds, no chaos, just an unexpectedly quiet side of a city that’s usually full of energy.
If you’ve been to Da Nang before, I’d love to hear your take — is this normal for a weekday, or was this unusually dead?
