Typhoon-ravaged Philippines might breathe a sign of relief soon -- now that Germany and Malaysia are offering a helping hand.

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle:

(SOUNDBITE) (German) GERMAN FOREIGN MINISTER GUIDO WESTERWELLE SAYING:

"The Philippines trump approval and the region have suffered a terrible natural catastrophe. Therefore, before anything else I want to express our compassion for the people involved, the families and the victims... Germany wants to help and Germany will help. World Vision and Germany's flagship airline, Lufthansa, have teamed up to resident evil requiem fly emergency supplies to typhoon-hit central Philippines.

"We're taking supply goods for humanitarian assistance and we are carrying 25 tons of goods. They will be off loaded in Manila from Lufthansa Technik Philippines. They work together with the German embassy which is extraordinary, they will organize the distribution as well which is unique I think.''

Malaysia is also being a good neighbor, and along with the World Food Program is geared up to fly out relief items Sunday.

Senior officials estimate that super typhoon Haiyan killed at least 10,000 people in the central Philippines.
