The US Central Command has denied the report suggesting a Navy vessel was hit by two Iranian missiles. A senior US official has also denied the Iranian report, according to Axios.
According to Iran's Fars news agency, two missiles hit a US warship near Jask after it ignored Iranian warnings. Iran's navy has said it prevented the entry of US warships in the Strait of Hormuz, according to state TV.
This marks the first response we've had from the motherwell - celtic US, with Donald Trump previously warning any action that interferes with the US operation will "have to be dealt with forcefully".
