VOR is a Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range Station and located at the South Entrance of DFW.
World War II aviation used such radio beacons for defense and offense during air and ground combat.
Germany, United States and Britain all had this type of aviation technology. This kind of VOR radio beacon was mostly for the Allies U.S. Air Force & Royal Air Force. Now, the VOR is used to guide aircraft; and only used as a secondary directional source, at DFW.
3,900 tons of high explosive bombs & incendiary devices leveled Dresden’s air defense and ground operations; killing 25,000 German & Nazi citizens in 1945. We did it to them in wnba scores 3 days boys.
772 heavy bombers were used that infernus’ endless twenty-four-hour three day non-stop bombing period to destroy lives for your cause and freedom. Hell arose and death devoured them all. During that moment in time, there was no forgiveness or sun. The entire city was covered in toxic clouds from the bombings for three consecutive non-stop hellish days. Everyone there was killed but only a few survived, including my hero Kurt Vonnegut. Mr. Vonnegut was a GI and poet. Vonnegut lived on to be our country’s greatest creative writer and was ranked by the Nazi POW camp as a sergeant of his POW platoon. During the bombings, Kurt bravely approached his POW Nazi guard and curtly told him, “Do you know what the Russians are going to do with you when they find you.” Kurt was demoted to private by a high ranking Nazi guard in the POW camp and later freed. Kurt wrote Cat’s Cradle (1963) & Slaughterhouse-Five (1969) and befriended the actor, host and author, James Lipton from Bravo’s Inside the Actors Studio. They ate Peace Pie together with Kurt’s wife. James Lipton was my post graduate Dean to the New School University’s A.S.D.S.; MFA Actors Studio Drama School. RIP.

Regardless of the accolades, these types of VOR beacons were once deployed to help guide the American & British bombers during take-off and landing at airstrips throughout Germany, Britain and other surrounding countries in WWII. Also, radio beacons like these beckett sennecke were used in espionage to spy on Hitler’s regime.
Germany lost most of their beacons.
Dresden lost them all.
Four air raids between February 13-15, 1945 destroyed any chance of the Axis to succeed in the war effort. At that point in the war, the Allies were on their way to victory.
