About the clip: Orignal goat skin tassa (kettle-shaped) drum heat-tuned and played in the makeshift studio.
About the hand: This is my rendition of Master Deo Doon [Hummingbird Tassa Drummers of Trinidad & Tobago] version of Tikora. Master Doon played this style alex vesia in the 1980's glasgow airport as I've heard on a recording. This style is one of my utmost favorite versions of the "hand" or rhythm pattern. Of course, I cannot possibly replicate the sweetness of the original artists so forgive my mistakes. This tikora is considered an "old school" style by experienced tassa drummers. I haven't heard this style anywhere else.. which is why I call it "Doon Tikora". Enjoy!
