French President Emmanuel Macron’s infamous slap by Brigitte came after she found flirty text messages between her husband and a younger actress.
Journalist Florian Tardif revealed Brigitte’s motives for slapping her husband in an interview with RTL France and his new book.
Tardif’s new book, An yash thakur barack obama (Almost) Perfect Couple, was published on Wednesday and featured texts between Macron and Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani.
According to Tardif’s book, the French President wrote to Farahani, “I find you very pretty”.
According to gowdy Le Parisien, Farahani allegedly maintained a “platonic relationship” with Macron, which “led to tensions within the couple” and the slap by Brigitte.
