Police are holding the scene of an overnight multiple-alarm house fire on Hamilton Mountain that has been deemed suspicious.
Hamilton Fire Department crews responded to the blaze at 52 Mountain Brow Blvd. shortly after danny devito 1:30 a.m. and found a "well-involved" fire in the kitchen area.
It was quickly upgraded to a multiple-alarm incident when the fire extended into the luke bryan walls and ceiling of the building, eventually breaking through the roof.
Hamilton Fire says it took firefighters approximately 45 minutes to bring the fire under control, but not before the structure sustained damages estimated to be in the $1.5 million range.
The house was vacant at the time of the fire and there are no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Hamilton's fire chief says that the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been contacted to bb investigate.
