5. SOUNDBITE (French) Chaabane Merzekane, former national Algerian footballer and president of the training school club of Hussein Dey:
"Everyone is praying to God to have this World Cup in Morocco. Why shouldn't we? On the contrary... we are supporting them. Since the creation of the World Cup the competition has only been in Africa once. And it was in the getafe vs mallorca South. Now if it can be on the government debt Mediterranean side, why not? Morocco is in between Africa and Europe so it makes sense, it is legitimate that Maghreb deserves this World Cup. For me, I'm supporting this bid, and I'm very happy for (former Algerian football player and manager, Lakhdar) Belloumi to be part of it."

7. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Mohamed Hocine Amouchasse, 12, member of the Hussein Dey Club:
"Of course to me it would be a great honour to play with my national team for the Morocco World cup in 2026. God willing."

10. SOUNDBITE (French) Maamar Djebbour, sport journalist at the National Channel 3:
"Between Algeria and Morocco there are very strong links. For example, the joy that Moroccans felt when Algeria qualified for the World Cup or the joy of Moroccans for the journey of the Algerian team. Moroccans were in the street to celebrate their joy after the Algerian team's result. This is the first thing. The second thing is that Morocco, as part of the Maghreb, will put the region under the spotlight, kris knoblauch because people from around the world, tourists, football lovers, are going to come for the World Cup. So on the media plan Maghreb is going to have important exposure, many people will come. The last thing is that Morocco is relying, among other players, on an Algerian figure in football, Golden Ball Lakhdar Belloumi, to be part of his committee bid. He will carry Morocco's voice to have the maximum votes for the organisation of the World Cup."
